Makeup Application Classes for Teenage Girls

Makeup Application Classes for Teenage Girls

Where can my teenage daughter learn to apply makeup, is this Wednesday’s beauty question of the week for Ask the Pro Stylist from a mother on Long Island.

Happy Hump Day beauty lovers! With the holiday weekend, Wednesday’s beauty advice almost slipped through the cracks, almost. Today’s question comes from a mother on Long Island who would like to find a makeup application class for her teenage daughter.

Hello Deirdre,

I saw a very old post online about a make-up application class that you did last year. Are you still holding classes like this? I have a teenage daughter that I would like to bring. If you do have something coming up, please let me know.

Thanks,

JoAnna

Thanks for writing in JoAnna. I have to admit; at first I was stumped by your makeup question. Having written 1,500 articles on hair, makeup, beauty, etc., I was a little baffled. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember which makeup article you were referring to. Thankfully, I store all previous written work and began to scour my resources. I think I unearthed a few items that may be of service to you and your daughter.

I myself do not conduct makeup classes. I am a hairstylist and currently only do makeup on friends’ daughters for Sweet 16s, although in the past I did makeup for brides and bridal parties. However, I am familiar with a few salons, spas and/or storefronts on Long Island where you can take your daughter to learn basic makeup application techniques.

Andrew James Salon in Franklin Square has in the past, held a makeup class. Di Rosa Hair Care & Esthetique, also in Franklin Square, has trained makeup artists on staff that will provide makeup tutorials. Clear Skin Salon in West Hempstead offers the “Color Me Beautiful” service that not only teaches makeup application, but also proper color selection for cosmetics, wardrobe and accessories. Finally, the MAC Cosmetics counters in Roosevelt Field will do a makeover and help you choose the best makeup for your daughter’s skin tone.

I sincerely hope this has helped. If you have a hair or beauty question, similar to JoAnna’s makeup query, please email me at DeirdreAHaggerty@gmail.com
