Elizabeth Arden Inc., in unison with the release of a clinical study published in the “Journal of Drugs in Dermatology”, unveiled a breakthrough in beauty news on Tuesday to Ask the Pro Stylist via email. ITPF 50 contains a cutting-edge combination of SPF 50, an Antioxidant Complex, and a DNA Enzyme Complex that in a recent study published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, released on March 4th, was proven to be more effective in reducing the risks associated with premature signs of aging and skin cancer than other commonly used products.

Leading skin cancer researcher, Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, James M. Spencer, MD, who is also on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology, and internationally recognized award-winning clinical pathologist and CEO of Living Research s.a.s in Robbio, Italy, Dr. Enzo Emanuele, MD PhD, authored the study.

The results of the double-bind irradiation study found TPF 50 to be significantly more effective than other topical products with DNA enzymes, antioxidants and/or growth factors when these products were used in combination with SPF 50 sunscreens, and showed its revolutionary skin protection technology to reduce the effects of sun damage associated with skin aging and non-melanoma skin cancer, as reiterated by Dr. Spencer below.

With the introduction of TPF 50, Elizabeth Arden is taking an all-inclusive approach by, setting a new standard in skin protection. This revolutionary combination is clinically-proven to have more protective effects on the skin than other commonly used products.

The groundbreaking new anti-aging skincare product was developed based on a unique combination of protective and restorative ingredients including a DNA Enzyme Complex, a highly potent protein protection Antioxidant Complex and broad spectrum SPF 50+ sun protection. This grouping works synergistically to create the most effective topical skin protection on the market.

A key pillar to Elizabeth Arden’s Omni-channel growth strategy, Elizabeth Arden Rx marks the company’s official entry into the global professional skincare market, as explained by E. Scott Beattie, President and Chief Executive Officer of Elizabeth Arden, Inc.

With over a 100-year commitment to delivering cutting-edge skincare technology, Elizabeth Arden set out to develop the next generation in topical skin protection. We identified an opportunity for innovation in this category and concentrated our research on the development of a breakthrough product that addresses multiple benefits and provides unparalleled skin protection; TPF 50 is the culmination of these efforts.

The beauty care giant collaborated with Signum Biosciences and US CosmeceuTechs, LLC and its CEO, Joe Lewis to collaborate on the project. Lewis, a chemist and cosmeceutical skincare researcher, is best known for introducing some of the world’s most innovative skincare ingredients, Alpha-Hydroxy Acid in 1983, Idebenone in 2004 and CoffeeBerry® in 2007. After years of research and development, the team discovered that the three components working together in TPF 50 are more effective in reducing the risks associated with premature signs of aging and skin cancer1.

The new skincare line from Elizabeth Arden is designed to maintain radiant, glowing skin day after day, with a universal tint designed to work with all skin tones. This multi-functional product is an essential step in skin health and beauty regimens for all skin types and is an extraordinary advancement in topical skincare offering triple protection while supporting the skin’s natural repair system.

Triple Protection Factor SPF 50+ will debut with the Elizabeth Arden Rx line at the annual American Academy of Dermatology meeting on March 21, where the company will co-sponsor the Skin Cancer Foundation’s annual event and preview this extraordinary breakthrough in topical skin protection. The beauty products will then be available exclusively at physician offices beginning in April of 2014.
