DIY Pink Hair Color Disaster: Don’t Try At Home

A DIY pink hair color disaster has been found at by the Hair Police, validating why Ask The Pro Stylist only promotes salon services. This DIY pink hair color fail is the reason why you shouldn’t play with color at home

Happy Monday gorgeous, and welcome to another edition of the Hair Police by Ask The Pro Stylist! I was MIA last week, busy with work and getting ready for Christmas, and totally neglected my readers. But with the frenzy of the holidays, I didn’t want to overlook another column, thus this week’s present to you, a very funny DIY pink hair color disaster.

In prepping for a color class, I searched YouTube for an inspirational video to show my future professionals. I found this DIY pink hair color fail instead:

The DIY pink hair color disaster turned out to be a valuable educational tool. We were able to discuss the 7 stages of lift. The future professionals predicted the red hair color that the result would eventually be, and they laughed when she applied the color without gloves because it is “vegan.”

This video provides a classic reason why I am so against DIY hair color of any kind. Professionals need to understand the why, the how, the what and the journey to get to the end result. These DIY blogging and vlogging tutorials prove if you haven’t been educated in the art of hair and/or beauty, then leave it to those of us who have. This doesn’t mean mistakes don’t happen in a salon…unfortunately they do, but they happen far less often than those who attempt services at home, and then end up with a DIY pink hair color disaster.
