Celebrity Hairstyle Trends of the Primetime Emmys
The celebrity hairstyle trends of the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards that aired Monday night on NBC were slightly different than the looks from the night before at the VMAs. As usual there were a few epic fails (Lena Dunham), however the 2014 Emmys also saw classic celebrity hairstyle trends with modern twists of buns, braids and waves.
The celebrity hairstyle trends of the VMAs were sleek and straight as seen on Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora, Jordin Sparks and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland who changed up her look for the Primetime Emmys with a tousled high bun. A variety of updos were indeed the celebrity hairstyle trends on Emmys red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
From high buns to braided pleats seen on January Jones, Katherine Heigl, Sarah Hyland and Taylor Schilling, to a mix of waves in between on gorgeous stunners such as Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Julia Roberts. A variety of my favorite celebrity hairstyle trends seen on the red carpet of the Primetime Emmys, hosted by Seth Meyers, can be seen below in the gallery (click the photos to enlarge.)
- Celebrity hairstyle trends: Lena Dunham’s epic fail. She looks like a Dutch boy.
- Celebrity Hairstyle Trends: Sarah Hyland and a high bun.
- Celebrity Hairstyle Trends: Taylor Schilling wore a low bun tousled updo.
- January Jones Celebrity Hairstyle Trends: Pleated braided updo.
- Celebrity Hairstyle Trends: Claire Danes low bun.
- Celebrity Hairstyle Trends: Katherine Heigl wore a deep side part updo.
- Sofia Vergara Celebrity Hairstyle Trends: textured waves.
- Celebrity Hairstyle Trends Julia Roberts: textured waves
- Celebrity Hairstyle Trends Heidi Klum with textured waves.
- Celebrity Hairstyle Trends: Sarah Silverman might look good in a great trend, but the comic was stoned on the red carpet.
And then of course there was Lena Dunham’s epic fail, which looked Tenille’s 70s hair from pop duo of The Captain and Tenille. I just want to slap the hairstylist who put the bowl over the Girls’ star’s head and chopped. Her bold, fluffy, pink ombre tiered Giambattista Valli number might have trended on Twitter, but the red carpet look for the Emmys is sure to be the topic of conversation on the Fashion Police, and her hairdo made her look like a 12-year-old Dutch boy, certainly not in concert with the celebrity hairstyle trends. Yes, be different, but do it with style! Oh, and by the way, did you notice how wasted Sarah Silverman was? Smoke half the blunt, not the whole thing right before you hit the red carpet woman!
