TGIF gorgeous and welcome to a very delayed Friday’s Favorite from Ask the Pro Stylist. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity, both good and bad. Those of you who know me personally are aware of what has transpired.
Our family took off to what could turn out to be our last vacation with just us 6. Two boys are grown and are heading into lives of their own. We had a memorable and glorious time at Universal Studios Orlando, staying onsite at the Cabana Bay Beach Resorts, being first on line for the full Harry Potter Experience, and crying my eyes out at all four Walt Disney World parks. These are memories I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Unfortunately I came home to shoot the final, hectic, segment of Family Takeover, an awful job that wasn’t what it promised, sending my angel baby Michael off to Boston Conservatory (without my rock to help me), putting my beloved dog Princess to sleep, and ultimately hurting my right hand because I have been extremely distracted. Therefore, I have let my passion, this beauty blog, alone.
Hopefully the craziness has subsided, and I am back to spread hair love once again with this dry shampoo review, which is this Friday’s Favorite beauty product of the week. It was a staple in my arsenal during my vacation and amid the recent hectic activity.
Farouk Systems Inc. recently debuted a new line for summer, the CHI Haircare Styling Line Extension with seven beauty products that include Dry Shampoo, Dry Conditioner, Texturizing Spray, Spray Wax, Reworkable Taffy, Styling Cream, and Finishing Pomade. The “multi-use product line is enriched with silk and ceramic to bolster hair vitality and offer style versatility.” What does this mean for the beauty consumer? Professional hair care products at affordable prices that promote healthy hair without the purchase of too many items.
The new CHI Haircare Styling Line Extension enhances your current style, as it produces incredible shine while each strand is given optimal thermal protection. Silk and a unique CHI Ceramic Compound full of proteins work synergistically to seal the cuticle, protect the hair, and strengthen each strand.
The latest CHI line hit stores such as Ulta, Beauty Brands and JCP Salons this past June. Each “weightless formula” has a light, but lingering fragrance of iced bergamot infused with lavender and jasmine.

This dry shampoo review comes after a client relayed information that a friend advised her to only condition the hair, and never wash with shampoo. This will be detailed in next Wednesday’s Q&A, however it needed mention because the scalp must be cleansed, but not every day, which is why dry shampoo has grown in popularity.
