Red Carpet Hairstyles: Get The Faux Bob Look

Red carpet hairstyles have been the hot topic of late thanks to the Emmys, NYFW, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and now Paris Fashion Week. Two red carpet hairstyles stood out at the 67^th Primetime Emmy Awards, which could be seen on Kerry Washington and Lady Gaga, and the Pure Hair Artists detailed how to recreate these medium-length hairstyles for Ask the Pro Stylist.

Happy Tuesday beautiful, and welcome to the weekly how-to guide for Ask the Pro Stylist. The hair artists from Pureology shared a few of their tried-and-true hair care tips to recreate the red carpet hairstyles seen on Kerry Washington and Lady Gaga, as seen below.

Apply Smooth Perfection Style Shaping Control Gel to damp hair.
Dry smooth with a natural bristle round brush and create a deep side part.
Using 1 1/4” iron, set hair with diagonal sections moving away from the part towards the opposite side.
Spray each section first with Colour Stylist Strengthening Control zero dulling hairspray for added hold.
Wind each section around the iron from roots to ends, and close iron on the ends.
Create a horseshoe parting at the top and clip out of the way.
Backcomb the underneath to create shape.
Smooth the surface with a paddle brush, gather together at the back and create a roll into the nape and pin into place.
Apply a small amount of Colour Stylist Density Definer medium hold crème wax to fingers, and run through individual pieces on the top.
Gather ends, tuck under bob and pin into place. Allow a few tendrils to fall free.
Finish with Colour Stylist Supreme Control high hold hair spray for colour-treated hair for lasting hold.

Tuck sides behind the ears and finish with Colour Stylist Strengthening Control zero dulling hairspray for a hold that will last all night.
