NYFW Nails: Young Entrepreneur Takes Beauty World by Storm

NYFW nails straight off the NYFW runway are this Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week. The fashionable fingertips from Static Nails were created through the creative eyes of a young entrepreneur, which ended up on many a catwalk during the Fall/Winter 2015 fashion shows this past February. Photos are below and a quick video tutorial from yours truly follows to learn how to apply the NYFW nails.

TGIF beautiful readers and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s favorite beauty product of the week. This Friday we celebrate nail fashion; NYFW nails to be precise.

This is an inspirational story of a young female entrepreneur who decided to expand upon the nail art frenzy with press-on nails, and in a very short amount of time became the official sponsor of NYFW—way to celebrate women!

I had the pleasure of meeting Alexis Irene, founder of Static Nails, during IBS New York, conducting a brief interview amid the frenzy. The idea for fashionable press-on nails with 3-D elements was born when Alexis was only 19. It took almost 2 years to develop Static Nails and the reception was stellar.

According to the Chicago native, these press-on nails are the first of their kind, which could be removed, reused, filed and re-polished, mimicking the nail art envy seen on Pinterest and Instagram. Gorgeous in her own right, Alexis’ idea landed not only on the catwalks, but was also the official manicurist of New York Fashion Week, and has been featured in many of the top fashion and nail magazines, with her best designs selling out uber fast.

I received a sample set of the Reusable, Paintable, and Shapeable NYFW nails in the Empire style. A quick video tutorial follows the pictures taken of some of Static Nails 3-D elements’ pop-ons photographed at the International Beauty Show in New York last March.

The steps in the video are as follows:

  1. Size nails
  2. File nails
  3. Remove cuticles (that is a cuticle remover and orange wood stick, not oil)
  4. Lightly buff nails to remove shine
  5. Remove residue with nail polish remover or alcohol
  6. Glue nail and artificial nail
  7. Hold for 15 seconds
  8. File to desired length
  9. Apply cuticle oil

The NYFW nails are easy to apply and come with an adorable pouch to tout around in those off moments one pops off, because life does happen. If you love nail art, which happens to be the hottest accessory, then Static Nails are a must-buy for your next special event or even prom.
