The theme for this year’s MET Gala was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology.” Gigi Hadid’s intricate metallic Tommy Hilfiger dress and the 2016 theme inspired Mar y Soul’s pricey manicure. The polish-free, technology-focused chrome design for her couture Met manicure was the focus of the night. According to the celebrity manicurist, “I collaborated with KISS Products to create custom elegant almond shaped chromed-out nails. The each had a hidden detail, crystals. Underneath each nail, I added 3 crystals for an element of surprise. This ensured her nails looked flawless no matter what angle.”
