Hair Fails: Top 5 Hysterical and Epic Hair Disasters

Hair fails, and the videos/photos that accompany them, are the impetus for Ask the Pro Stylist’s column, Hair Police. The list of top 5 hysterical hair fails below segued every hair color class I taught. Some you know, and others possibly not. However, perhaps they will brighten your Monday and stop you if a compulsion to do your own hair and document it ever arises.

Happy Monday beautiful, and welcome to Ask the Pro Stylist’s Hair Police. Every week I bring attention to the funny and sad choices people make in the beauty world. From inner beauty to at-home hair fails my objective is to bring people back to the salons and leave the hair care/coloring/styling/cutting to the professionals. This is not to say laypeople should rush to the salon to have hair done daily. I want the world to know the pros put a lot of time, effort, and education into the betterment of the beauty business, therefore your hair. We know what we are doing. Conversely, as some of these videos portray, you do not.

The top 5 hysterical hair fails are as follows. Number 1 is now famous as possibly the worst yet.

Number 5, Pink Hair Dye Fail!

This video of Venissa B dying her hair pink kills me. From not wearing gloves because the color is “vegan” to misunderstanding the end result confirms to me why hair should NOT be done at home!

Number 4, I Died My Hair Purple (fail!?!?)

Sarcasmbycecilia looks about 12? My question then is, “Why the hell is she on YouTube?” While the end result isn’t awful, this young lady creates quite the mess in the process. BTW, the color won’t last when mixing with conditioner.

Number 3, FAIL L’Oreal FERIA PASTEL Smoky Blue Hair Dye new collection 2016 tutorial demo 

Kevito commits one of the most common hair fails because he doesn’t understand color. Blue neutralizes orange, hence the result. Yet, he still attempts to correct it with lightening. While that is the proper way to create the pastel shade, hair lightening should never be done at home.

Number 2, Hair Bleaching DISASTER!

Perfectly Sonder is the perfect example why you should never bleach your hair at home. She is fine with her results, however many who see this might not be. Never play with lightener at home. You do not understand developers, the process etc., and you do not have access to the best professional products.

Number 1, Burning My Hair Off – ORIGINAL VIDEO – (Hair Tutorial Gone Wrong)

There are many reasons Tori Locklear has more than 47 million views (and counting), making her one of the most popular hair fails yet. But, as I say in Number 3, “Why the hell is this child on YouTube?” Parents, pay attention to what your kids are doing!
