Glitter Lips for the Holidays

Glitter Lips for the Holidays

The holidays are here and you are ready to impress at the upcoming gala with a pair of glitter lips, think Nicki Minaj eyes, that beg to be kissed. Glitter lips, in any color add a little extra sizzle to any evening affair, especially watching the ball drop on New Year’s Eve.

Glitter lips, inspired by the runway models, are easy to achieve with a few simple and relatively inexpensive products. Since dazzling lips like these are not an everyday occurrence, the items needed to produce them will be worth the purchase. The glitter can be reused for other makeup applications, lipstick, clear gloss and liner is a must have purse item and everyone should own a small lip brush.

First line the lips, using either a natural lip color liner or one close to the color of the lipstick. If using light pink cream lipstick with pink glitter, it is best to use a natural liner. Then fill in the lips with Revlon’s Red Lacquer lipstick, however, any moist lipstick should suffice. Next apply red fine cosmetic glitter, such as Fine Glitter by Make Up For Ever Paris, to the entire lip surface using a lip brush. You can use your fingers, but as any parent who has conquered glitter crafts will tell you, glitter gets everywhere so it is best to use a brush. Finally, seal the glitter with clear M.A.C. Clear Lip Glass.

If fine lines have begun to form around the delicate lip area, outline the lips, just outside where the lips meet the skin, with concealer and/ or an eye shadow base to prevent lip bleed.

Glitter lips will look fabulous in pink, copper or red, just in time to dazzle for all of your upcoming parties, including celebrating the New Year.
