ghd Styler Review: Are You Having a Good Hair Day?

ghd Styler review: Are you having a Good Hair Day this summer? Read on to learn if the classic periwinkle professional 1” styler from the limited edition ghd pastel collection earned a spot as this Friday’ favorite beauty product of the week.

TGIF said no salon working hairstylist or dance mom, ever. But for my beautiful readers, I wish you all s fabulous weekend. This Friday my hair care product review is of the ghd Stylers, the limited edition periwinkle professional 1” flat iron. It is neither my favorite beauty product of the week, nor is it an epic fail either.

ghd Styler review pros: To style and straighten summer hair, the ghd Styler helps to not over straighten, which creates smooth locks, frizz-free hair and doesn’t cause breakage. Poorly made flat irons only cause breakage from incessant ironing and pulling. The Limited Edition pastel iron comes in the colors of the season, heats up fast with ceramic technology, therefore the hair is straightened in less amount of time. The colors are trendy and cool as is the size and ease of use. The iron has a long chord, a must for pros, and an auto sleep mode if left unattended for 30-minutes. It is versatile enough to straighten and create curls and waves, although not easy for inexperienced hands, as even with the ceramic technology, the outside is hot to the touch when wrapping the hair. A thermal glove is recommended.

ghd Styler Review cons: The price. At over $200 for a “professional” flat iron, as a professional stylist, or even a general consumer, I want to see the temperature. It has an LED light switch to let you know when it heats up, which is fast, however there is no temperature read out. It shouldn’t be used for Keratin Treatments or Brazilian Blowouts, but we also need to know the temp for use on synthetic hair. And the heat index was not readily available on the box, instructions or website.

Ask the Pro Stylist’s advice? Spend the money elsewhere unless the ghd styler in pretty pastel colors is a must-have because it matches the décor of your room. Tune in next Friday for another review of my favorite, or not, hair, beauty or nails product.

Happy Styling!
