The nail art Ariana sent over was recommended for an awards show viewing party, emulating the nail fashion seen on the red carpets that have both a “classy and captivating,” style. With more teens opting for glamour and elegance, I thought the “French manicure with Superstar Nail Lacquer’s Miami at Midnight (black) and Soho Chic, which is a metallic gold that will automatically add a pop of jazz to your nail beds,” would be ideal DIY nail designs for prom.
According to Ariana, “you’ll see that instead of doing the traditional white tip across the nail, there is black lacquer in the shape of a V. This adds some spice and depth to the nail. Also, opting for the metallic shade will give your nails sparkle and shine without looking too gaudy.” Her step-by-step guide for DIY nail designs for prom is as follows.

- Use a clear base coat to paint the nails.
- Paint all your nails with a metallic shade. Pictured is Soho Chic.
- Now create what looks like a V at the tip of your nails with black. Pictured is Miami at Midnight.
- Use a clear top coat to seal the design.
- Clean any extra polish and around your nails with a Q-tip.
