Contour and Highlight With Pro Makeup tips

Contour and highlight with pro makeup tips. A client and friend read a recent article on prom makeup and wanted to know if I recommended one tool that could do it all. This Wednesday’s Q&A with Ask the Pro Stylist answers my guest’s question.

Whoop, whoop, happy Hump Day hotties, and welcome to Wednesday’s Q&A with Ask the Pro Stylist. As I was blow-drying a friend’s hair Monday, she wanted to know what cosmetic would be the best to contour and highlight. She hates a cluttered makeup bag and drawer, and has been on the lookout for one beauty product that does both.

Prior to our conversation, information about Osmosis Colour Mineral Makeup Lustrous Highlight Contour Duo crossed my inbox, which came with contour and highlight advice. While I haven’t sampled the makeup, I do trust the brand, and believe it answer’s my client’s question on her quest for a dual beauty product to contour and highlight with this powder-based compact.

Osmosis Colour Mineral Makeup recently announced the launch of their new Lustrous Contour Duo. The contour and highlight compact contains a matte bronzer alongside a shimmering highlighter to help define and flaunt your best features. The contour is designed to recess light, perfect for applying anywhere you wish to create artificial shadows or disguise fullness. An application of the highlighter follows, which is ideal for areas you want to draw attention to. The key to highlighting is applying this iridescent hue anywhere on the face so the sun will naturally hit selected areas such as the tops of the cheekbones.

Alejandro Falcon of Osmosis Colour Mineral Makeup, who has worked with stars such as Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez, has provided the following contour and highlight advice.

If you want to contour or reshape the features of your face, first pinpoint the areas you want to make appear slimmer or less pronounced. Then, the areas that you would like to see accentuated, simply bring them out through highlighting.

Cheeks: If you have rounded cheeks and would like to make them appear slimmer, then start close to the hairline by the ear and move your darker shade formula forward to draw a line.

Then sweep the formula upwards starting from the back and working your way forward, diffusing the color on the cheek area.

Nose: Use a smaller tip brush and add the darker shade on each side of the bridge of the nose, diffusing the color towards the prominent area you want to look slimmer.

Jawline: Sweep the darker color across the jawline and down toward the neck. This gives the illusion of a slender neckline.

Highlighting: Add the highlighting powder on the areas you want to bring out. For the cheeks, usually below the eyes is perfect to enhance. Highlighting the bridge of the nose makes the outer areas look smaller. The most important aspect of contouring is to blend your formulas well enough that you do not see where they connect together.

Learn to contour and highlight with this Friday’s favorite beauty product of the week. The Osmosis Colour Mineral Makeup Lustrous Highlight Contour Duo costs $35, and is available online at Beauty Store Depot.
